Coolhandtrew is an artist who truly cherishes the art. His experience of touring with a rock band has chiseled his craft. He is known for is innovative style of music. Soulzi is a lo-fi project that has put out songs that will truly enchant your mind. Both these amazing artists have come together to create this laid back EP which is a true work of art. The EP is named ‘Wish You Were Here’ and as the name suggests, the EP is like a bliss of nostalgia. The way both of them come together to produce something so amazing is remarkable.
The EP has a little touch of each worlds like Hip-Hop, Melodics, RnB, Alternative Rock. The execution of such project is what astonishes me the most. Each track is experimental yet sound like a whole new genre already. This is an EP no one should miss out on. Each song has it’s own significance in the EP leading gently into the next track and finally putting it to an end which will surely leave you begging for more. All the tracks have joyous vibe and are something you would dance to. This is a perfect dance playlist in itself.
Track 1. ‘Improvise’ is the first track of the EP which is the perfect start to kick off the energy needed for the EP. The grooves go hard AF leaving you in abyss. The rap part is really catchy and the rhymes are innovative. The music is immersive and holds the listeners mind. The track has got a hint of jazz to it which is mesmerizing.
Track 2. ‘Masquerade’ is the third track of the EP and one of my favorite tracks from the EP. The vibe this song creates is unbeatable. The vocals go tight with the music making it one of the most powerful track of the EP according to me.
Track 3. ‘Pressure’ is the third track of the EP and where the graph of energy gently curves down. The song beautifully portrays some really complex feelings with mere words and music making is feel surreal. This is oddly motivating for me, making me realize all the things have to get straight, this track is an eye-opener for me.
Track 4. ‘Waiting’ is the most hypnotic track of the EP which will surely send you to a whole another dimension with its deep musicality. The melodies are something extraterrestrial. The song takes you higher than the Empire State building itself.
Track 5. ‘Celebrate’ is the fifth track and acts like a bridge between the EP and it’s outro. This track is full of surprising musical elements which will blow your mind. The subtle use of flutes holds the structure of the song together strongly.
Track 6. ‘Peculiar’ is the last track of the EP and surely left me begging for more. This is the best end one can expect from such an immaculate EP. The energy of this track is perfectly balanced to sound like an ending to a story. The last track completes the EP beautifully.
The EP ‘Wish You Were Here’ is one of the best collaborative EP’s I have come across in a while. It is a must listen.
