Magic Dirt Announces 25th Anniversary Tour and Full Performance of “Young and Full of the Devil”

Celebrating 25 years since the release of their second album, “Young and Full of the Devil” , Australian rock legends Magic Dirt are going on a national tour, treating fans to a full album performance and a selection of hits!

The tour will begin in Canberra on Thursday, 20th July, and continue across various cities including the Central Coast, Sydney, Launceston, Hobart, Melbourne, Castlemaine, Byron Bay, Brisbane, Ballarat, Newcastle, Belgrave, Geelong, Rye, Dunsborough, Perth, and Bunbury.

Released in April 1998, “Young and Full of the Devil” followed closely after Magic Dirt’s debut album, “Friends in Danger.” The album introduced guitarist Raúl Sánchez, joining founding members Adalita and Dean Turner, along with drummer Adam Robertson. While Adalita and Sánchez remain the sole remaining members from that era, they will be supported by touring bassist Steve Patrick and drummer Dan McKay during the live performances.

To mark the 25th anniversary of the album, Magic Dirt recently reissued “Young and Full of the Devil” on vinyl in April. Album producer Lindsay Gravina described it as an “art record” that captured the essence of the times and served as a cathartic experience for the band. The reissue drew praise from fans and critics alike, further solidifying the album’s lasting impact.

The band took to instagram saying “We are mega excited to announce our Young and Full of the Devil national tour,” When announcing their dates they said “When it came time to the reissue, we really wanted to do something extra special for you all, so we thought, what about doing the album from start to finish?! Fuck yeah!! ” They added, “We are super pumped to play all these songs, and we’ve been loving rehearsing them again, some of them for the first time in over 20 years! It’s brought back a lot of great memories and an awesome new energy to our playing. We’ll also be adding a selection of old faves for good measure! This will be HUGE guys, we can’t wait.”
