Luvrjay is an independent artist blending pop, R&B, and hip-hop into a sound that refuses to stay in one lane.
He recently released his debut single, “Deadly.” The song came from a completely honest moment and was freestyled from start to finish. The message is simple but intense: “I don’t want you crazy over me because it might get deadly.” It’s a record about passion, obsession, and the emotions that can consume us. We interviewed him on his debut, here’s what he had to say:
- What was the inspiration behind creating the unique electro number “Deadly”?
“Deadly’ was inspired by my desire to push myself creatively and make something bold and high-energy. Since it’s my first official release, I wanted it to showcase my versatility—not just rapping, but singing too—and introduce people to who I am as an artist.
2. Tell us a little about your experience as an artist. What pushed you to create music?
I started making music in 2020 while I was stuck at home. At first, I made songs just for fun and to express myself, but over time it became something I was truly passionate about. every song comes from how I’m feeling in the moment. It took me years to build the confidence to finally release my music, and now I’m excited to share my journey and keep growing as an artist.
3. How has your musical journey been so far? How would you describe your music to a first-time listener.
My musical journey has been all about growth and I’d describe my music as versatile and unpredictable. I freestyle everything, so every song captures how I’m feeling in that moment. You can expect a mix of catchy melodies, rap, singing, and high-energy tracks that aren’t afraid to be different.
4. What inspires you the most as an indie artist? Do you draw inspiration from spontaneous life events? Or are your creations methodically planned out?
What inspires me most as an indie artist is real life and emotion. A lot of my creativity comes from spontaneous moments—how I’m feeling in the moment, things I’ve experienced, or even just a thought that hits me out of nowhere. so I naturally turn those moments into songs right away.
At the same time, I also like to be intentional with my releases and how I present my sound. So it’s a mix of both—spontaneous creation in the studio, and then more thoughtful planning when it comes to how I build my projects and grow as an artist.

5. Tell us a little about your goal as an artist? Do you believe in art for art’s sake? Or is yours more like a spontaneous outlet of emotions?
My goal as an artist is to keep growing, reach more people, and turn my music into something meaningful and lasting. I want my sound to stand out, but also connect with people on a real emotional level.
For me, music is both art and expression. It’s definitely a spontaneous outlet for my emotions since I freestyle a lot, but I also care about the bigger picture—how each release fits into my journey and how I’m building my identity as an artist over time.
6. “Deadly” sounds both gripping and experimental, how would you describe the song’s concept?
Deadly’ is an intense, experimental track built around pushing boundaries . It mixes electronic sounds with rap and vocals to show different sides of me, and the concept was to create something bold, unpredictable, and hard to forget.
