Jelexy is Redefining Electro-Pop with ‘One in a Million’

Jelexy is a singer and songwriter who is emerging as one of the most revolutionary artists in the electro-pop music scene. Recently, we interviewed the young and talented artist on the release of her song; here’s what she has to say:

1. The latest song ‘One in a Million’ thrives on beautiful electronic vibes and soulful melodies. Tell us about the journey of curating something like this.

I was a huuuge “sad love songs” girl before “One in a million”. I mostly wrote those slow , melodic , heartbreaking songs, but I always really really wanted to write something more feminine, powerful and interesting. And also I’m a dancer so I wanted to write something I could dance to. When we got in studio and started creating , the line “One in a million” immediately came to my mind and I just couldn’t let it go. And that’s basically how it happened. Lyrics , melodies, vibes just started flowing (that’s actually what happens every time I create). While writing this song I felt the powerful confidence building up in me , this song reminded me that I’M ONE IN A MILLION and I truly wanted and still want every single person in the world to feel the same. That’s the purpose of this song. I wrote it to remind you that YOU’RE ONE IN A MILLION , never forget it, and never ever be afraid to show it!!!

2. How do you aim to utilise the art of music to the benefit of your listeners? Do you think that music has some special purpose?

I started writing when I was 13 and that’s exactly when I understood that this is my destiny and my whole purpose in life. And since then I always knew why I wanted to do it. It’s not because of the money , fame , or any other stupid reason. I want it because I truly want to make this world a better place , I want to say things and I want people to hear it , and music is the most powerful tool to do all of that. Music is the language of the world, everyone gets it. Of course music has some special purpose. It’s life changing. I don’t think anyone can imagine their life without music, it would be so freaking boring. Music can make us cry , laugh , dream. We connect some of the most important moments of our lives to songs , like : “oh we kissed to this song” , “oh I got the best news when this song was playing” , “oh , this song reminds me of someone really special”. Music can bring those moments back to life , it can make you feel things, can you think of anything else capable to do al of that? You know what, if someone asked me “Do you believe in magic?” I would answer immediately and with no hesitation- YES , MUSIC IS THE MAGIC! So guys listen to music and believe in miracles, that’s what makes this life feel like a dream!

3. Tell us about your favorite project that you have worked on so far.

I thought about this question a lot and I really don’t think I can highlight only one in particular, because what I love most about all of my projects is the process. I LOVE when people who absolutely live and breathe their work get together in a room , put their minds together and create something completely amazing, unique and just great. The feelings and emotions this process makes you experience are beyond words. This is one of the things I love most about working in the music industry. We’re working on so many different projects right now , they all are different and unbelievably good and I can promise you that you will hear them all really soon , and you will be pleased, so get ready guys)!

4. Your music contains brilliant electronic motifs and modern pop charm. How do you aim to revolutionize pop for your listeners?

All I can say right now is that my music will grow and evolve with me. I’m 19 , I’m still really young and I have a lot to learn. My music is versatile. I can’t really predict how my songs are going to change , cause when it comes to music my heart is the one to decide. Oh and believe me when I say it’s kind of unpredictable, So I guess we’ll see…)

5. If someone is listening to your music for the first time, what would you tell them? Give them a little introduction.

Hey , I’m Jelexy , and I hope that my music can help you in any possible way) I want my songs to be your cure , your medicine. I hope my songs can light up your brightest moments. I want my songs to be the ones helping you through tough times. I also hope you’ll just enjoy my music. I hope my songs will play in the background of your favorite movies. I hope it brings up the best in you , I hope it helps you. I hope you can find a piece of yourself in my songs , hope you can relate to them. Hope that you’ll know you’re not alone and I’m always with you.

6. What can your fans and listeners expect in the near future? Are you planning on releasing something new anytime soon?

You can expect some amazingly good music , cause once I stepped in the game you’re not stopping me) My new song is already out , it’s called “Moving On” and it’s completely different from “One In A Million” but I’m sure it has the power to win your heart. And I’m also getting ready for my third release that is coming out on September 11th , so I guess just stay with me and I can promise you won’t regret it!
