Games of Life - Jeppediinho

Jeppediinho’s ‘Games of Life’ is a synth drenched house album with irresistible hooks and grooves

Sweden, the land of great music, may it be prog death metal to electronic music. Today, we have another rising artist from this region. Swedish electronic house artist Jeppediinho, known offstage as Jesper Holmgren, with a standout debut ‘Games of Life‘, which would make heads turn among fans of dance, pop, and melodic electronic music. This is synth drenched music festival with melodic hooks and grooves you can’t escape. House music mixed with rock, pop, and 80s synths. Every track here does something for you.

As I play through the album, “Illusion” kicks things off with that late 90s, early 2000s electronic pop vibe. The track is filled with synths and features a nice keyboard riff. The chorus makes you bob your head immediately. Its chorus is both infectious and energetic. “The Wrong Time” channels the spirit of early 2010s icons like Avicii and Alesso, relying on catchy, hook-driven choruses that feel both fresh and familiar. I really used to love this kind of music, and still do. A subtle shift occurs with “Lost In My Mind,” which while more reflective in tone in the verses, retains the signature melodic hooks and engaging chorus.

“Find Myself” and “I’m Unbreakable” sustain the album’s momentum, with their nocturnal, electro-dance ambiance. “Coming Back” and “What Are You Waiting For” further showcase Jeppediinho’s ability to craft evocative grooves and earworm melodies. These are pop grooves you can lose yourself in. Real Love takes a more contemporary pop direction, in the style of Sabrina Carpenter and Doja Cat. We Are The Winners brings rock style vocals with an epic arena electropop sound. Another super catchy, hypnotic, groovy banger. “Feels So Good” exemplifies Jeppediinho’s knack for creating dancefloor-ready tunes. Is there any bad track here? The closing trio “What’s Your Mentality,” “The Power Inside” and “The Raven” bring the album to a satisfying conclusion, each track maintaining a high standard of songwriting and production.

Throughout “Games of Life,” Jeppediinho emerges as a skilled songwriter and electronic pop producer, impressively blending genres to create a cohesive and exhilarating listening experience. There are no weak tracks to be found, every song offers something compelling.

The album’s strength lies in its consistency and variety. Each track brings something unique while maintaining the core sound that defines Jeppediinho’s style. The production quality is top-notch throughout, with layers of synths, driving beats, and memorable vocal hooks that stick with you long after the album ends. Jeppediinho is a song churning master, a great songwriter, and electronic pop producer. Just put on ‘Games of Life’, and be ready to keep grooving, you’ve been warned!
