Sydney Gordon – Obsessed
Sydney Gordon – Obsessed

Sydney Gordon – Obsessed | Neon Groove

Obsessed is the latest blazing single by New York pop artist Sydney Gordon. The song manages to pack a punch in exactly three minutes. Sydney Gordon has been singing since age seven when she also picked up the piano. Around the age of fifteen, she started writing her own songs. She has her own record label Static Impulse Records from which she has released Obsessed.

The song commences with a prominent synth bass line which pulsates through the song. An electronic snare that hits every alternate beat of the bass in the verses sets the groove. The affirming vocals of Sydney shine in the chorus along with the drum beat in the chorus. Electric guitar rhythm stabs and a groovy beat lays the arrangement’s backbone. We get to hear some shimmering synth in the last verse as the chorus makes its shining mark. The melodic lines over the extremely well produced arrangement with synths and the neat rhythm section are really a treat to listen to.

The song lyrically deals with the perils of the self fading in an unhealthy relationship. Imbalanced relationship can drive one insane especially when one feels that feelings aren’t reciprocated at the same level and intensity. Obsessed is spun and sculpted lyrically around this obsession. Together with the song’s producer Mike Cortes, Sydney co-wrote “Obsessed,” while Alex Poeppel handled the vocal production. Tony Maserati mixed the song, while Dave Kutch did the mastering. With Obsessed, Sydney Gordon has a groovy and catchy pop number in her hands. This is an affirmative pop song that exudes confidence and finesse.
