Jacob Rountree – Walk A Mile | Folksily Joyous

Jacob Rountree is, indeed, a mesmerising individual. The United States-based multi-talent creates music that defies what people normally consider music. His unmatched ability to loop percussions and play over them needs no hyping. Originally, starting off on his own, he found it a tad bit challenging to perform live, but then he added Marcus Bendon on the drums and Leah Dobby with backup vocals and bass. While he performs as a trio live, he also creates his own music with their help. He cites influences from Pink Floyd, Shakey Graves and Ben Howard.

His latest single, Walk A Mile, is an emotional track. He creates a playful atmosphere that can, certainly, boost your spirits. His vocals are an absolute gem and guide the music really well. Additionally, the drums and bass create a pretty smooth groove that you can move along to, quite easily. His music reminds me of the joyful Hippo Campus and Dave Matthews Band. Moreover, Walk A Mile is rather energetic and it seems that all three of the musicians have a bunch of fun while creating it. Jacob Rountree has quite an affinity for music and it truly shows in the music he releases.

If listening to his music alone isn’t enough for you, I urge you to catch him live as that’s when you’ll see how brilliant he truly is! He can usually be found playing at local hot spots in Montana or being a part of the local band scene in Spokane.
