Ulrich Jannert Embraces Courage and Self-Belief on EP “All In”

German-born composer, lyricist, and producer Ulrich Jannert returned on June 12, 2026 with All In, a four-track soul-rock EP built around themes of courage, self-belief, and personal growth. Based in Northern Europe, he blends soft rock, soul, country, and subtle R&B into a sound that is melodic in an uplifting way, and reflective songwriting. A lifelong musician and independent creator, he uses the EP to trust oneself and move forward with confidence.

The EP

All In, the title track, begins with raspy, emotion soaked vocals. “Life’s supposed to call my name…so I’m going all in, no safety net.” This track feels like standing at the edge of a diving board for far too long before finally jumping. The moment your feet leave the ground, the fear is still there, but excitement soon takes over. The entire track carries this sense of somebody running through an open field, barreling towards the sunset with no clear destination except the horizon.

Next, Breaking Free – Soul Brass Version arrives with triumphant horns bursting through the mix. Where the original carried the weight of feeling trapped, this version sounds like the moment after the door finally swings open. “No more ties that bind me gonna find my way…untethered spirit breaking the tethered.” The brass arrangements practically dance through the song, it feels like rolling the windows down on a long drive after leaving something behind for good.

After that, Follow the Compass in Your Soul – Reimagined strips everything back. The baritone vocals sit front and centre, creating one of the EP’s most intimate moments. “Map your path with passion bright…the hero at the end is you.” The track makes me think of somebody unfolding an old map beneath a dim lamp, only to realize the directions they need were scribbled in their own handwriting all along. It is quite reassuring.

Lastly, Yin and Yang close the EP’s emotional journey. It carries the feeling of walking into a stylish 90s restaurant with a live band performing on the softly lit stage, trumpets and all. “My Yin and Yang devil and angel collide…step towards the edge, dream realigned.” The song embraces contradictions rather than trying to solve them. In this track, light and dark, caution and courage, doubt and confidence sit on the same bench, conversing, not in conflict.

As a whole, All In is like a soundtrack for standing at crossroads. The tracks walk through change, whether that means taking a leap, cutting ties, trusting yourself, or learning to live with contradictions. There is something warm and uplifting running through the entire thing but it also never ignores the uncertainty that comes with growth. Instead, it embraces it, shaping doubt into something worth moving through.
