Thea FitzGerald is a new and upcoming singer/songwriter who was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. She’s absolutely fascinated by the musical arts industry, more specifically music production and performing live on stage.
As a kid she found herself listening to classic old school R&B. As well as contemporary soul artists such as Etta James, The Beatles, Aretha Franklin, Blondie and Paul Kelly. But now she prefers Frank Ocean, NAO and Kehlani.
Her distinct, soulful sound weaves together R&B, pop and the essence of what makes up modern music today. Her powerful voice adds depth to soulful harmony. With a genuine interest in fashion and art, Thea has always found inspiration in every corner of culture.
After releasing her debut EP and mixtapes in 2019, ‘Good Like That’ debuted as EP number two in early 2022. She’s now released a new song called ‘Way Up.’
This track is a perfect representation of Thea’s diversity in their latest work! With upbeat drums and soulful instrumental tracks to compliment lead singer Thea’s vocals, ‘Way Up ‘ brings a genre. The track is a bending mixture to listeners from Pop, R&B, Soul, and Rock.
Moreover, this song was not only intended as a merger of different genres but also a conversation piece with the public. It is about overcoming loss in an honest way while being celebratory of life.
Instead of beating around the bush with metaphors or sugar-coating things that make us vulnerable we should be able to discuss our feelings. Particularly on what may seem like heavy topics freely with one another so we don’t feel alone in hearing it or experiencing it ourselves.
