Sheykh Forever is an Iraqi-born, London-based indie alternative pop-rock artist from London who is known for his music that blends a variety of genres such as rock, layered pop, dream pop elements with contemporary motifs. With an innovative spirit, Sheykh Forever brings out the best in sounds through his invigorating charm and a relentless musical persona that breathes life into everything he creates. Exploring the human experience in vivid detail through meaningful lyrics and vibrant soundscapes, Sheykh Forever’s music is something refreshing on the music horizon!
Recently, Sheykh Forever released an album called ‘Fire in the Master’s House’, an upbeat, modern pop-rock collection that amalgamates the best of offbeat indie pop with contemporary electronica energy by blending disco, funk, and heavy rock. With full-of-character, light-hearted yet deeply exploratory lyricism that stirs the soul, the songs beautifully bind political message with their musical identity. The use of pulsating basslines, distorted layering of electronic textures, gritty, groovy guitars and danceable rhythms takes the thrill to another level and renders the album a unique approach to modern rock. The vivid use of rock and turning it into alternative magic by incorporating gorgeous pop nuances makes every single track stand out on its own. Songs like “I’m Your History” tap into the album’s central theme of displacement, identity and the toss and turn between history and belonging. “Same Disease” explores so profoundly how trauma and suffering can pass through generations and how violence tends to shape lives long after it occurred. On the other hand, “Ghosts!” brings a paranoid energy to the table, blending and evoking eerie energy through gothic soundscapes and psychological realism.
