Red Kate is a punk rock & roll band from Kansas City, MO, known for their no-nonsense approach and class-conscious lyrics. Over a decade, they’ve released multiple LPs and 7” records, touring the Midwest and founding the not-for-profit label cooperative Black Site to aid other bands in vinyl production. With rising authoritarianism and hate worldwide, Red Kate’s hard-hitting polemics serve as a musical call to action. Singer/bassist L. Ron Drunkard and drummer Andrew Whelan lay down infectious grooves, while guitarists Shaun Hamontree and Mike Campbell deliver fierce, tube-driven tones reminiscent of 70s British Pub-Rock and modern post-punk noise.
