Barcelona-based electronic producer Montaplex released Interconnection Overdrive in April 2026, a self-produced experimental single built with layered synths, distorted textures, and an incredibly immersive sound design. Working under the self-described style of synthweird, he continues to explore futuristic electronic music that blurs the line between rhythm, and digital experimentation.

Interconnection Overdrive opens cryptically. The electronic textures do not hesitate to surround you, and the track pulses like it is trying to soundtrack your journey into outer space. The ticking sounds slowly pick up, but they are never fully rhythmic. They break apart, disappear, and come back again, making everything feel constantly alive.
There is also this feeling of expansion throughout. Every new synth layer stretches the space a little further until the music feels much bigger than where it started. Halfway through, it almost sounds like electricity running through your skin. The distorted audio and layered synths give the track a distinctly futuristic edge. The track also feels like a giant system that never stops moving, processing, and evolving all at once, not slowing down.

Visually, the track puts me in the middle of a dark city where neon cables weave between towering skyscrapers, carrying streams of light in every direction. It almost resembles a massive matrix, where hundreds of digital sounds are interconnected, constantly firing, colliding, and feeding into one another. Finally, Interconnection Overdrive sounds less like a song and more like stepping inside a living, breathing network environment, and for four minutes, you just exist inside it.

Figuring out my path while actively plotting ten others. Serious about my dreams with somewhat chaotic ambition. Will do anything for cats.
