Jenks unleashes raw deathcore energy on “Deathtrap”

Central Victoria’s solo deathcore artist Jenks has a new single and metal fans are in for a treat from this phenomenal Australian metal/deathcore artist. Working entirely solo, Jenks crafts music that channels the raw aggression of the genre without compromise. It’s the kind of DIY approach that recalls early Thy Art Is Murder or Whitechapel, where the intensity comes first and everything else follows.

Deathtrap” is exactly what it promises. This is not for the faint of heart. Jenks delivers a relentless two-and-a-half-minute assault of guttural growls and piercing screams, and riffs that feel genuinely fierce. The song packs a solid punch in barely more than two minutes. Pure aggression from start to finish. The track has a fire like quality that burns hot and fast, leaving you slightly scorched by the end.

What really stands out is the drum work. It’s intense and powerful, with a surgical precision. The drums sound clean but brutal, driving the chaos forward without ever feeling sloppy. Jenks clearly knows how to make some tight deathcore with real intent. And just when you think it’s all blastbeats and fury, there are these groovy headbanging moments that pull you in deeper. It’s good to hear some solid old-school deathcore making noise again. “Deathtrap” hits hard and doesn’t apologize for it.
