The track starts off slow and mellow, with the gentle strums of the guitar easing us into the song, setting the stage for Kamakshi’s vocals to take over– and when they do, her singing is soft, and the production more so than keeps up with her vocals with its powerful, deep percussion that hits deep and rumbles just right with the orchestral hits; and as we progress into the verses, the vocal layers stick together quite amazingly to create a melody that weaves quite a vivid picture with its complexity, yet remains easy to sing with a memorable progression that renders “Love Is Not A Fucking Game” quite the comfort listen.

The lyrics explore deep themes like being taken for granted in relationships– quite a pertinent topic today, and a theme that deserves talking about; and here, it is delivered with grace and power, with Kamakshi’s committed approach to songwriting and storytelling that leverages cadences and crannies in the beat that gives it a great shape and sound.

The mix and master complement the vocals and the production quite well with a nicely balanced sound, riding the line nicely between precision in the mix and warmth; ending up with an inviting, friendly sound that makes excellent use of the energy spectrum from the lowd to the highs, and with excellent dynamic control throughout the track.
