Kinch-Sympathy | A short straw

Kinch are a rock wave with indie aesthetic sound that have been around for a long time. They have had some great singles over the years, and the sporadic releases make them all the more interesting. They release their new single Sympathy in 2021, and it is a fun track with a lot packed in neatly.

With vibes that dominate blink-182 and Sum-41 as well as the majority of post-punk bands, Sympathy pulls jumper cables from the same and charges it up. Sympathy is a quick, fun track with chugging muted guitar and an explosive chorus section. With the vocals harmonised at the right notes, it is a hook that dare not leave your brain. Clean instrumentals with bouncing drumbeats make this a must have on your new playlist.

Kinch is back after quite a long sabbatical, after their 2009 EP Collars and Sleeves. Either that or their Spotify page is misleading. Either ways, their sound production and chase for tones has been successful. The crunch of the guitar sticks out in parts where it is isolated, and the harmonics have been sorted out to make an unforgettable track on their catalogue.

Self professed metalhead, moderately well read. If the music has soul, it's whole to me. The fact that my bio could have ended on a rhyme and doesn't should tell you a lot about my personality.
