Jimmy Eff and the Sundogs are an indie rock project from the Midlands, United Kingdom whose work often centers on melodic songwriting and personal themes. Their latest track “Better Like Before” is a heartfelt mid-tempo indie rock song created in support of The Aplastic Anaemia Trust and inspired by personal family experience. Jimmy Eff composed the track for Erica, guitarist Chris’s daughter, after she went through aplastic anaemia. This condition is a rare disorder in which the bone marrow does not generate enough new blood cells.

The arrangement is built around acoustic guitars, vocal harmonies, and a reflective, bittersweet tone. The prioduction is relatively minimal, allowing the core elements of guitar, string section, and harmony to drive the track. The song begins with acoustic guitar chords that establish a warm, familiar backdrop.
