Best known for his hip-hop-infused pop tracks – ‘Fight No More’ and ‘Forever Love’, Canberra-born artist Rafa recently shared a captivating new single called – “i Know”. The track showcases the magical production of Oxford-based EDM artist Sam Welch and features a blend of addictive melodies and hard-hitting beats that support Rafa’s emotive vocals throughout. It’s a song about feeling hopeful and confident, learning about your desires and respecting them. Rafa and Welch capture this mood in their own signature style, and in my opinion, it’s definitely worth a few listens.
In the first few seconds itself, Rafa’s verse comes in and is accompanied by a mellow guitar melody. A soft kick carries the groove of the track along with mellow synthesizers and warm atmospheres. Welch’s intricate production emphasises the powerful vocals in the chorus – a lovely blend of instruments and textures.
I particularly liked how each section of the track flows into one another seamlessly as it progresses; starting from a soft RnB verse to the energetic electronic section. Featuring a colourful blend of vocals chops, guitars a powerful bass, ‘i Know’ is one of those songs that have it all! It’s a pop track influenced by house and other forms of EDM and that’s what makes it an interesting listen.
Rafa started putting our music in early 2020 and debuted his first track as a collaboration with Welch. ‘i Know’ is the third single out by the crossover duo and I’m pretty sure there’s a lot more amazing music to come in the near future, so stay tuned!
