U N ME is the first track from Leche Guy, and this debut is already turning heads. The song almost plays on a jukebox – it has a retro feeling to the production. However, the mix of 21st century quirkiness in the lyrics and a mellower-than-ever, funk aesthetic is definitely very modern.
Leche Guy is the musical persona inside of New York-based artist Chris Gallardo coming to life. A fan of pop, funk, disco, and rock, his debut track seems to be a melting pot of these influences. Unlike what popular music does to the genres, U N ME offers a take on what this combination of influences could sound like. It has an authenticity that comes from a love of the genres instead of the desire to create what pops and catches.
This reflects on the artist’s persona, a distressed artistic soul who can often feel like a misfit. Furthermore, there is a major GenZ element to his aesthetic, and it is refined and substantial. It is bold and carefree for it is an expression of the internal colorfulness of the artist. Additionally, he stands against toxic masculinity, dated understanding of passions and disciplines, and lack of empathy.
