Gregor McMurray, Jingle – Vivid | Experimental

Sydney-based producer Gregor McMurray is known for his unique production style that showcases an eclectic mix of instruments from multiple genres. Following the release of his 2021 E9999, the artist is now out with his first track of the year – “Vivid”, featuring Australian musician Jingle. The duo combines elements of hip-hop, pop and electronica in their productions with an appealing experimental approach that makes their music stand out. For those of you looking for something fresh, interesting and innovative, “Vivid” is the track for you!

Born in Scotland, 23-year old McMurray has been making waves in the electronic pop scene since 2019, and has released a constant stream of singles since then. Known best for his tracks “Glyph” and “So Far Gone”, the artist blends experimental pop in a special way that makes his tracks very appealing to a wide audience. His latest release features industrial synth, glitchy percussion and melodic autotuned vocals that give the track its hip-hop/rap-like vibe. The artists are accompanied by artistically detuned pads and some bizarre wind instrumentation throughout the track.

Jingle sings over McMurray’s insane production on this track, which features sidechained synths and computerized percussive elements that somehow work together. It’s great how the artists create a sound that is very unique, and still not too overwhelming to the ears at the first listen. With “Vivid” as the first release of the year, McMurray gives listeners a peek into the overall sound of what’s to come, and it’s only a matter of time before he’ll be the talk of the town!
