Godo Yorke – I Won’t Come

I Won’t Come from Godo Yorke is one of the artist’s few songs in English. It is, however, a masterpiece that blends the genres of alt-pop, electronic, and post-rock. Godo Yorke is the stage name of Lithuania-based singer-songwriter Goda Sasnauskaitė.

Godo Yorke started singing when she was only four years old, and has been playing the violin since she was six – talk of a prodigy! Now she also plays the guitar and piano, and produces music. As a child, the artist was heavily inspired by Jazz music and her beloved Aretha Franklin. This makes sense as there are undisputable hints of electro-jazz in her sound.

I Won’t Come has such a distinctive sound that it is hard to forget the song. The track has so many layers and textures that it can be hard to keep track of! There are electronic beats of a few different kinds. A deeply revving rhythm that gives the song a cohesive structure. The track does not follow the conventional pop structure. Rather, it creates its own structure that relies on the jazz of electronic beats with the deep and mystical vocals of the singer.
