Swats – Come Home | Tactical Lyricism

Swats is a North Carolina based Hip-Hop and R&B singer-songwriter. Making up a half of GameBreax, Swats is the Song Writer and Tactical Sounds emcee. He began his musical journey early in his life, with his immediate family. The Hip-Hop artist has a brilliant knack for songwriting and production.

Come Home is a brilliant track, using elements from R&B lyricism to Trap beats, creating a lively atmosphere. Swats’ vocals are like honey in your tea – adding sweetness to a little bit of bitterness. The beat, while Trap, reminds me of some brilliant artists like Deadmau5, Hardwell, and Afrojack. The production quality is absolutely insane, especially the melody line created using synths. Swats’ knack for tactical lyricism shines throughout the track with catchy lines like We roll / We die / We hate / Goodbyes. It fits much better in the groove of the track, but you’ve got to trust me on this.

I really love the flow in the track, it’s rather smooth, reminding me of early Chris Brown and Trae Songz tracks. It feels great to hear a good R&B, Trap, Hip-Hop fusion track. At points during the track, I can hardly tell the difference between Swats’ vocals and those of Kendrick Lamar. I highly recommend Come Home to any fans of Trap out there.
