Leo – Helicopter Leaves | Passionate

Leo is a really creative artist with his own spin on R&B/Hip-Hop. He has got a really smooth flow that is really laid back and the lyrics are really relatable and passionate. Leo hasn’t followed the path of other rappers into a lot of auto tune and talking about material possessions. His music has a really alternative vibe, almost as if he has combined the two genres.

Leo is an alternative R&B artist from Massachusetts who has been passionate about music since he was 14. By the junior year of high school, he had already started releasing music while also creating a brand for himself called ‘entitled’. He has merchandise, music, videos and artwork under this brand and it shows a lot about Leo. The fact that he realized he has to monetize on his talent and use himself to market his brand!

Helicopter leaves starts off with an acoustic guitar riff, that is spaced out and it slowly picks up with some shakers in the background and the lyrics just rolling out of Leo. Every single aspect of the mix is amazing and the production quality is impeccable. He talks about how he dreams that she is still by his side, hinting at the theme of the song. A song filled with reminiscence, with amazing instrumentals that accentuate this emotion. The panning and arrangement are really nice and creates a nice spatial effect that intrigues the listener. Voices whispering in my ear while Leo sings in the middle.

Leo sounds like Post Malone met an alternate rock band and ‘Helicopter Leaves’ is a really interesting single. Give it a listen:
