Danish indie folk and pop-rock singer-songwriter Rasmus Nelausen has released a perplexing new single named Diorama. This is the first and the title single for his upcoming second album release. The song runs for less than three minutes but manages to leave you bewitched by the end of it.
Rasmus is influenced from a spectrum of artist like Bon Iver, The Weather Station, The War On Drugs, and Kurt Vile. The twenty-eight year old musician took the scene by storm with his 2020 debut album ”September Weather”. The title track alone has clocked in more than two million streams.
The song begins with electronic beats snare and kick focused. With some pleasing and calm synth production that sounds both retro and modern. Retro due to the use of some old style tones and the more airy synths making it sound modern. Over this intricate and eclectic arrangement, the vocals float perfectly. We can even hear the light subtle muted guitars.
Diorama is pleasing and inspires joy with the soothing baritone vocals placed over this Japanese garden of an arrangement. Brushes of electro synths with the raw organic base makes this a unique listening experience. Rasmus Nelausen has played more than two hundred shows in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Germany.
The album has been made for over 18 months in association with producer Daniel Sarto Lassen and songwriter Jonas Dueholm. It traverses the themes of death, mental health, and love that is hidden. We are looking forward to the release of the album Diorama in May.
