Winter Romance is the latest release from Midnight Run. While this is only the artist’s second official track, it packs a punch. Its composition is reminiscent of the magical Seafret. The track is super folksy with captivating energy. Furthermore, it rides almost entirely on the guitar and banjo combination to drive home the melodies. The chorus is almost entirely reliant on these two, sometimes with unmatched, dynamic strums, and other times with a softer setup. Additionally, the band’s Bluegrass influences come through in the track. Further, the background vocals are also very earnestly used on the track.
The song itself is about meeting a stranger, ‘I don’t know you/ You don’t know me/ It’s a start.’ It has the feeling of butterflies in the stomach when you strike a new romance. It gets embedded in your memory and takes up your fantasy. Similarly, this winter romance has forever changed winters for the singer. With that, it is a wrap on Winter Romance, but it’s for sure a start to watching out for Midnight Run. The musical duo is based out of London, Great Britain, and is committed to releasing more music in the coming months.
