Sam and the Sea – Evil Ghosts | Relaxing Soundscape

Sam and the Sea is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and visual artist based in New York, USA. They craft music with beautiful soundscapes and atmospheric textures that you can lose yourself to. Offering their music as an escapist fantasy to anyone who would like, Sam really knows how to set the mood. Citing Elliott Smith as a major influence, they certainly have the vibe whilst bringing in originality.

Evil Ghosts, their latest single is an absolutely dreamy escape from the world. While they craft these beautiful aural stories, Sam and the Sea have created a visual journey in the music video released alongside the song. You can check the video out below.

With so much emotion and all-encompassing tones and sounds, you can’t help but feel like you’re on this journey with them. Sam and the Sea certainly know how to create a story out of their sound, often creating a soundscape that sets the tone for the whole story. The light textures and minimalist influences shine through with the light synths and guitar plucking. The sounds of the ocean are super relaxing and pave way for the rest of the song to play out. I, particularly, enjoy how everything just fits perfectly into their style. From the simple beat to the guitar and bass work, everything is so congruent with who Sam and the Sea are.

With a few tracks out now, you can stream them on most platforms. Additionally, I highly recommend giving them a listen because Sam’s music can be super relaxing for anyone having a bad day.

I listen to and make silly noises while analysing why people behave the way they do.
