Lettie, David Baron – Escape | Alternative Synth-Pop

Today we’re listening to British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Lettie’s latest release – “Escape”. Following the successful release of her 2021 single “Shoot The Breeze” in collaboration with veteran producer David Baron, the much-adored duo is now back with another melancholic track to wow their fans! Lettie is best known for tracks like “Tainted Love” and “Our House”, and has been making waves all around the globe with her vintage analogue electronica and alternate-acoustic folk music. Her latest release is an upbeat alternative synth-pop track featuring infectious melodies and groovy beats in a top-notch production!

“Escape” starts off with some spacious synths that introduce a constant bass melody that kicks off the addictive rhythm off the track. Lettie’s vocals take centre stage among the synthesisers and pads; a very expansive soundscape supports her delicate voice here. Listening to the intricate production as the track progresses, there’s no doubt that these artists are at the top of their game! The carefully curated tones blend beautifully with one another throughout, listen to this one on your best pair of headphones to experience the magic.

Towards the end of “Escape”, the modular synthesizers take over and create a lush soundscape that’s full of energy and is very vibrant. Baron’s production shines through the entirety of this track, but the final jam with Lettie is where the duo’s sound stands out significantly. Additionally, the masterful mix really gives the song a lot of life and it’s nice to hear all the elements breathe comfortably on this one.

Lettie and David Baron have been making music together for over 15 years and have made 3 albums together along with other releases. Their musical chemistry has developed exquisitely to showcase a very unique, yet relatable sound that appeals to the masses.
