“Devil’s Eye” by The Mojo Brothers Band: Lovely Country Rock

Referred to as the “darlings of the crowd” at every venue and music festival where they take the stage, The Mojo Brothers Band takes great pride in consistently delivering electrifying live performances. Their unique fusion of country, rock, and blues genres never fails to captivate the audience. On this infectious track, “Devil’s Eye”, they make an indelible mark– keep reading for my thoughts!

The whole song is just one good-sounding thing after another; from the absolutely creamy intro that immediately made me sit up and start paying attention, the song had me hooked. As the vocals start entering the foray, the storytelling here is simply beautiful; with a tinge of country rock– especially with the twanging acoustic guitars in the background coupled with the clean electric supporting riffs that make appearances at regular intervals. It all makes for a song that only keeps getting better as the duration keeps rolling.

There are some great harmonies at play here, a choice presented to you for your picking and focus; and each time I listened to this song, there was a new melody, a new harmony my brain kept getting attracted to. The amount of auditory easter eggs on this track, is, simply, an audiophile’s delight.

As we ride along on the hook, we are presented with an electric (if you will excuse the pun) solo towards the middle of the song, with some great fretwork going on, making for a part of the song that I’m confident people will rewind and listen to time and again– and as the violin enters the soundstage in the second part of the solo, it forms the icing on top of the cake.

The production on “Devil’s Eye”, is in very brief words, appropriate, innovative and very, very well held-together. The mix steps up to the challenge of a genre like this, and manages to tame the frequencies with grace and polish, with the production also playing a major role in making this song the song it is.

In conclusion, “Devil’s Eye” by The Mojo Brothers’ Band gts my two-thumbs-up recommendation– heck, if I had more thumbs, those would, invariably, have gone up too. It earned a spot on my playlist, and you can check out the song here:
