Dublin-based independent singer and songwriter Chelle released Same Blue Sky in September 2026. The synth-pop single brings an ’80s-inspired sound with glitch-pop touches and drum ’n’ bass rhythms. It adds another side to her soulful R&B and pop sound. Fresh off a BBC Introducing feature, Chelle has also picked up airplay from Amazing Radio, Breaking Sound Radio, and Mafia Radio.

Same Blue Sky opens on a booming sound that brings on an ’80s beach disco feel. The song somehow sounds sunny too, like stepping out into the afternoon and getting hit by a wave of heat.
“Finally it is the summer sun, sadness for you but baby I’m done…we’re just two strangers under the same blue sky,” these lines carry the core of the song. There is something bittersweet about two people standing under the same sky after everything between them has disappeared. The sun is still shining, summer keeps going, but she has already left that part of her life behind.

The upbeat pace and rhythm almost make it sound like rock. And the whole thing feels like driving past a place you used to know without feeling the need to stop anymore. Halfway through, “Don’t get too close…I’m not your fool, I’m not your prey,” the lyrics are punctuated by drums going bam bam bam, like slamming a door shut. It sounds like finally dropping someone’s hand and keeping your own feet moving with the sun still burning on your skin, knowing you are finally done.
