The song has been designed to the T in sound by mastodon sound producer from Malayalam cinema, Jakes Bejoy. A film score composer with several titles under his belt, he has been active since 2007. Making his debut in 2014 as a music director, he has spent his last 11 years making an indelible impact on the Indian film industry. His attention to detail really shows in the song-capturing the boom and thrilling impact.

The song has a hard hitting boom, great balance and a hook that brings the moments to life. At this point, Shreyas’ vocal register is instantly recognisable and flow is natural. He commands the feel of the song, shifting from the tempo and temperature to make a spicy hit. The track is already approaching 900k listens on YouTube, and is sure to become a blockbuster hit.

Deep Dive: Shreyas Sagvekar and indie hip-hop in contemporary bollywood

This is about commanding your own destiny, and it is fitting that an indie rapper like Shreyas Sagvekar gets to tell it. There is a meta layer of success here, and how honing his talent has led to making such a pulsating, soon to be viral hit. Deva has done extremely well on the release as well, racking an 8 on IMDb.

The young rapper Shreyas has already put his foot down in the industry and had an amazing presence. From Rap 91, Ctrl Alt Del, and most popularly known lakalakalakalaka, he is giving fans a version of hip-hop that doesn’t need to be diluted. This is the full Monty impact. He has brought his skill to the stage as much as his videos have, and his passion to bring the old school charm of hip-hop remains feisty.

Jakes Bejoy from the Malayalam industry is in high demand now, and this song’s DNA has his efforts well into it. It is evident that this duo can create controlled chaos, no matter where they go.

The track was released on January 23, 2025 and is featured in Deva, that has been released on the 31st of January. Make sure you give it its due and listen to the song. Follow Shreyas for more music like this and check out Deva!:

Self professed metalhead, moderately well read. If the music has soul, it's whole to me. The fact that my bio could have ended on a rhyme and doesn't should tell you a lot about my personality.
