Bekim! is an R&B composer, producer, songwriter and lyricist who works with vocalists and is based in Germany. From a young age, Bekim! had always been fascinated with making music. He used to make his own bootlegs all the way back in the 1980s. While he dreamed of making his own music someday, he collected records. Soon after graduating, he created a small studio for himself and started producing and rapping to his own beats and music. He took inspiration from the 90s and 2000s Pop and R&B. He’s taken influence from the likes of Lionel Richie to Ronan Keating.
His latest single, Next To Me, is a nostalgic and fresh track. It has the light old school percussions that take you all the way back to the 90s. The harmonies are perfect and add so much depth to the already emotional melody line. Next To Me has a load of Soul in it. Moreover, Bekim! has a brilliant sonic understanding of rhythm and harmony. Having taught himself harmony makes this even cooler. With the vast array of sounds that you hear, it is quite easy to get lost in the song. It feels like I’ve been taken back to Tomagatchis and CRT TVs.
Bekim! has that nostalgic and unique sound that reminds you of an earlier time when things weren’t like they are now. He has the ability to just teleport you using his music which is incredible. That’s probably one of the best parts of his music — how fondly we think of it and associate it with another time.
