Tamer Sağcan is a Turkish composer, a classically trained guitarist, and a budding novelist, who amalgamates the intriguing genres of mythology and science fiction to create an otherworldly storytelling. His narrative project is anything but ordinary- with a focus on the Eleyrrha Universe, a product of his mind- a fantasy, sci-fi saga that his music complements beautifully. His pieces are designed for each chapter of his novel, progressing like the plot itself, portraying the inherent themes and the core of his fiction. This instrumental storytelling is what sets his music apart and makes him stand out from the crowd.
Recently, Tamer Sağcan released an instrumental album called ‘Home: Universes’, a neoclassical, orchestrally ambient work featuring 13 ethereal pieces, each depicting the sonic map of the cosmos. This album is the second instalment of the Home Trilogy, which depicts the vastness of the universe, exploring parallel realities and existential oblivion. The entire album thrives on the classical guitar, which beautifully brings in a mythological element, binding the sonic nuances like a dream. Classical orchestration and ethereal textures add to the spatial vibe, making you feel as if you are drifting away into the emptiness of the universe as you listen to each song. The album creates a sombre mood, through subtle instrumentality- it shifts from quiet stillness to almost tranquil meditativeness.
The tracks feature gradual progressions, with intentional pauses that mirror the chapters in a cosmic novel. The sounds are so atmospheric that you find yourself transposed to some alternate reality. The composition is created so masterfully that the songs envelop you in a tranquil web of soundscapes. The opening track, Enterstellar, acts as a gateway into the Sağcan universe with floating guitars and soaring sounds making you feel as if you are actually witnessing the space for the first time. Another track, Materia Oscura, exhibits exceptional orchestral brilliance with guitars that are more sombre and grounded.
