Prison Escapee creates a new post-rock tension with his song, “The Day Lennon Died”

Prison Escapee is the dark diaries of a forgotten past. Maybe it can be revived through haunting melodies and an approach to music that cannot be replicated in any other way. Erik David Hidde has ensured this project is further away from the zeitgeist, to take a better, more calculated look. This is his latest single, The Day Lennon Died.

A creative echo: Prison Escapee

A haunting echo takes over. Prison Escapee has the opportunity to begin with silence, and this silence is felt. If we are observing from a musical perspective the day one of the founding members of The Beatles died, we must stray away from that sound. The minor scale chord progressions and industrial pipe percussions are what stick out. With a slower leading melody, this artist creates an amalgam of genres that would never coincide, but with ease. If you have heard the album Honey, you know that the thematic infusion takes some time, and is worth it. If you can picture the world post-assassination, you’ll know. There is a soul being driven away in a metaphorical way. The way the composition presents itself, it feels physical too. There is post-rock and electronica here, a bit of new wave and this experimental texture that comes from a unique place.

Self professed metalhead, moderately well read. If the music has soul, it's whole to me. The fact that my bio could have ended on a rhyme and doesn't should tell you a lot about my personality.
