“Shooting stars light the way/ Through the Nebulous we sway.” The string-heavy sound and the certainty in the uncertainty of the lyrics weave together a beautiful tapestry of music. There’s an echo of classic British indie and Beatles-like pop to the song, creating a familiarity of genre. It’s a very easy listen and a catchy number that stays with the listener in a loop. Jonathan Gibbon lends his voice, which is drifty like the verses in the song. “Catch a wave on the solar winds/ Explore the universe/ We’re galactic castaways/ Through the cosmos we sway.” ‘Starship’ attracts the child-like curiosity that lives within everyone. And the video certainly does a wonderful job of catering to the myriad nuances.
