Sylva Faye is a singer-songwriter and session flautist from central London. She creates and records ambient folk songs, and when she’s not touring on flute, she performs them live with her band around the city. She’s played notable shows at places like O2 Academy Islington, Sidmouth Fringe, Blues Kitchen, Good Life Festival, and the Finborough Arms. Her style blends indie, rock, singer-songwriter craft, folk, and fusion into an ambient, ethereal sound built around rich harmonies. Her music has gained attention from platforms such as BBC Introducing and Tom Robinson’s BBC6 Mixtape, as well as outlets including The Evening Standard and The Hype Machine.
Sylva Faye has released a new EP, “Cracked.” It starts with “Wraithsong.” Right away, you get melodious riff work and dreamy vocals that make the whole opening feel warm, welcoming, and super easy on the ears.

On “Free (P34CH20)” the synth work is amazing. It feels bright and free, like it instantly puts you in a carefree mood. The vocal delivery is hushed and calming, which blends perfectly with the relaxed, airy production.
“Cracked” itself has a vulnerable yet determined kind of vibe, and the instrumentation stays minimal, which lets the emotion really stand out. The vocals here also bring a different texture. It has more passion, more raw feeling, like the more emotional side of Sylva Faye is fully stepping forward.

“Blooms” reshapes a heavy-hearted summer into something about resilience. The mood floats between daydream and detachment, as if the everyday world is slightly blurred. Sonically, it also breaks from her usual style: instead of the typical approach, it leans into layered electronic elements that give it a new dimension.
Finally, “LHF.” ends the EP on a breezy, mellifluous note. It has shimmery synths and some really emotional synth textures, and the vocal work elevates the track to a whole new level. The rhythm variations, the sudden speeding up and slowing down, make it extra engaging, and they leave you wanting more.
