The musical journey of Josh Jensen began in eastern Washington, where he honed his craft listening to Opry legends. Forming bands came naturally, landing him in Seattle’s famed The Dutchman studio with producer Gary Mula. While pop-punk roots shifted, his songwriting broadened via the exploration of guitar from folk to grunge. In college, Jensen and the funk group Cadre dropped a proggy LP. Its residue formed a premier Bellingham outfit. Returning to Mula in 2012, Jensen debuted as a solo artist with Unravel the Wire at the iconic Columbia City Theater. He channeled pandemic isolation by writing his 2022 album Moon Time, mixed by producer Luke Rain and featuring guest spots from mandolinist Matthew O’Toole and Jensen’s daughter Coralie.
On his uplifting new single “Birdhouse,” Josh Jensen brings his signature blend of folk and electronic styles to buoyant new heights. Accompanied by talented collaborators Matthew O’Toole, Alex Capron, and Evan Earhart, Jensen crafts an infectious brew blending organic and synthetic elements.
