Tam Alawa is a London-based singer and Pop artist who grew up in Singapore. After she moved back to London to join Goldsmiths, University of London, Tam has focused on her music career. she describes her sound as magical and serene atmospheres with her piano-laden melodies and soaring string arrangements. Even though Tam has just released her second single, it is even better than her debut, Bring Me Back. With a large focus on sadness and negative emotions, Tam Alawa has crafted brilliant tracks to go with them.
What I’m Made Of is a synth-laden track with powerful vocals. The beat builds up into a crescendo, breaks, and then climaxes into the chorus. The track is the perfect Bedroom Pop track — with the slow, yet perfect tempo. Moreover, the lyrics are actually quite empowering, talking about resilience through times of darkness. Additionally, the middle 8 section is an atmospheric and ambient joy to hear. Everything seems to slow down even further but still maintains stability. The chorus is catchy, loud, proud, and sticks with you. Tam Alawa has a brilliant affinity for crafting brilliant, dreamy soundscapes that match her voice.
There’s so much to enjoy in Tam Alawa’s discography so far. Both her releases are quite soothing Pop tracks that can boost your spirits. I would keep an eye out for more of her music if I were you
