Kris James – The Way You Move | Viral Disco Pop Fever

Liverpool pop musician Kris James has an infectious dance number for us with his latest release The Way You Move. The song has a strong disco funk feel to itself. His debut single Eyes Open peaked at number 25 in the official iTunes chart where it held the position for four weeks. With a prolific music career and much perseverance, he hasn’t looked back. Kris James was the former vocalist of the London pop group The Scheme. He has worked with producers like Tom Fuller, who produced for Amy Winehouse and Robbie Williams.

The song begins with a fluid electronic bass and synthpop arrangement. When the verses start the synth bass has kept us hooked into the pocket of the groove. It is a light song about hanging out with friends and having fun. The Way You Move is a song you can’t resist tapping your feet and moving your head to. The highlight of the song is its almost viral groove which will attack the rhythmic DNA of every cell of the listener. The ethereal instrumentation is stunning in the composition of Kris James.

Kris James talks of the fun process of creating the song. And this fun energy is conspicuous and evident in every bar of it. With The Way You Move, he has teamed up with producer Sam Williams, known for working with artists like Supergrass, Plan B, and Gaz Coombes. Kris James has an almost George Michael energy in his vocals and music. A George Michael of the modern pop era mixing disco and synthpop.
