Songwriting does not limit itself to a passionate hobbyism for South African-born singer-songwriter Cindy-Louise, as is made evident with her third consecutive release of 2021.
The singer reappears to her fandom with the release of one of her latest songs of 2021 Femme Fatale, coming in close after the release of her previous additions to her discography such as The Mask (Remix) and Just Relax (Remix), following up the track with her latest two singles Rise Up and My Fantasy. As is indicative of the name, Femme Fatale is a sultry and picturesque characterisation of largely feminine resentfulness borne out of lovelorn betrayal and injuries.
The three-minute track develops itself in a bluesy tempo decorated with simple arrangements of piano arpeggios and clever guitar licks that conversate across the track, providing Cindy-Louise’s songwriting the edge it warrants. The lyricism in the track appears rather staccato and in-your-face, wherein Cindy-Louise does not shy away from the complete emotive evolution of the thematic intonations of the track — in fact, the lyrics provide the number with the somewhat raunchy malignance it ushers in.
