Like the chemistry in A Star is Born, Celeste Kate has found a partner in music. Her tracks display her vocal excellence and arrangement skill a lot, but this time it features a special guest. Andrew Tomney joins her for seconds with an equally enchanting voice, his warm tenor having an inviting feel. This is Can You Hold My Hand Instead, their newest single.
A bare-bones track, this acoustic number focuses on only their voices and the piano. With Celeste’s leading voice being a cascading waterfall, Andrew is the terrain that gives it form. They work in tandem, beautifully, like a whole new experience being felt together. There is an instant connect, emotionally and lyrically, in this track that connects all like the silky web of a spider. This single doesn’t bother with flourishes and effects, all that needs to be sung exists within.
Celeste Kate and Andrew Tomney find an edge over other tracks with the mastery of minimalism. Celeste has her stand out performances in songs like Two Weeks and fantastic songs from her 2018 EP, I’ve Been Waitin. Listen to her exciting and fresh approach, really utilizing the tone and clarity of her voice in these tracks. This is Andrew Tomney’s debut work on this streaming service, so we can’t wait for more collaborations and new experiences being shared!
