The Australia-based artist has come up with a new single, “Stoppage Time.” I have to say, I was not prepared for this release. “Stoppage Time” is a mere two minutes of chill-inducing bass, tight drums, and an edgy synth sound that leads you on a journey through emotions you never knew existed. Although the single is short, it has an immensely appealing beat that quickly draws you into the song. Because it lasts only two minutes, there is no time to feel bored at all. In fact, I find myself wanting more and more with each successive listen. “Stoppage Time” is a sonic journey from start to finish. With one of the most sonically engaging sounds I’ve heard in a while, the sound of cheers and drum beats set the mood for adventure and discovery throughout this whole track. The melody, guitar solos and synths, and sound effects give way to the second half and keep you interested enough. From the high-flying drums and shouting that open the song through to its amazing ending, Sonomancer delivers an unexpectedly short yet extremely engaging feel-good tune that should not be missed. Sonomancer doesn’t waste any time in getting right into his point—to make you believe you’re at an actual major contest, with all the excitement and adrenaline that entails.
