Leman – Over The Moon | Trip Beyond Space

Leman Brown is a Boston native, Los Angeles-based artist with 14 singles and 2 full-length albums out on every major streaming platforms. His tracks revolve around dark and moody electropop melodies crafted with perfection. The way this young artist fuses vocal melodies with syncopated rapping is just breathtaking. He takes the best out of two worlds and pretentiously weaves it into a masterpiece. Leman doesn’t only astonish you with the fusion of rapping and melodic singing but also has got some musical surprises up his sleeve. The way blends dramatic sounds with the modern synth and drums is bewildering.

The album starts on a dramatic note slowly flowing into its highs and lows. The transitions in the album are so smooth that it carries you with it through profound emotions induced not only by wavy melodic vocals but also by deep and heart-touching lyrics.

The first two songs of the album are ‘Drive’ and ‘Brighter Days’. Both the songs seem like the best way to enter into the album. Both the songs are filled with catchy choruses and mesmerizing music. The second song exhibits pretty strong musical components making it one of the best tracks of the album.

The third song ‘Cold Blooded Killer’ starts off with a heavily distorted synthesizer and slowly flows into really smooth vocals and a pretty heavy chorus leading to an amazing rap verse. This is a perfect bridge between the intro and the rest of the album.

The next two tracks ‘Alive’ and ‘Lost My Mind’ are perfect pairs that enter into an upward graph, single step at a time. ‘Alive’ is a low-tempo song that creates a perfect valley for the next track to take you way above through fast-paced drums and heavy vocals.

The next track is ‘Here In The Dark’ which takes you back down on the curve making the album the rollercoaster ride I expected it to be after listening to Leman’s last album. This is the shortest track of the album yet one of the most powerful and necessary bridges that makes this album a whole.

‘Lonely Streets’ is a perfect mix of lo-fi drums and ambient vocals that uplifts your body and mind.

The next three tracks of the album are a perfect triplet which shows the artist’s versatility starting with ‘Overgrown’, a heavy rap filled track that is so musical that it tickles just the right parts of your heart followed by ‘Left 4 Dead’ and ‘Enraptured’ which are both really strong tracks that will surely touch your heart.

The next three songs ‘I’m Not Perfect’, ‘Shadows’ and ‘Drift away’ are a perfect curve going up and reaching its peak somewhere near the end of ‘Shadows’ and coming back down to set the mood for the perfect outro.

The last track of the album is ‘Over The Moon’. The ending of this outstanding album could not have been any better. This song hits just the right notes to make you wanna listen to the album yet once again.

The artist shows how two different worlds would look if their best parts collide. This album is a must-listen for anyone who loves listening to rap and also a must-listen for the ones who love electropop.
