Rapper and producer Kellan. recently put out a Pop/EDM remix of his 2020 single “Free Girl” along with Leeds-based producer/multi-instrumentalist Ben Casey. Kellan Faker-Boyle, formerly known as K-Rad, started his musical journey in 2018 in his hometown of Seattle and he writes about topics ranging from love and depression, to passion, and even politics in his song. If you’re familiar with the original 2020 track from the Push Pull EP, Casey’s remix of “Free Girl” will a refreshing change of pace. Featuring upbeat grooves and addictive melodies, you won’t be able to get enough of this one!
Kellan. kicks off the track with an energetic verse over some ambient synths and claps. The track builds up in energy with percussive layers, basses and synths that fill up the stereo field excellently. Casey’s tone selection here is phenomenal! He captures feel of the lyrics with a modern EDM touch through intense drum fills and powerful drops right from the start. The incredible energy of the track makes it impossible not to groove along. Additionally, the super clear mix shines through on this remix, making it the perfect track for the dancefloor.
Ben Casey’s remix of “Free Girl” is both a beach song and a club banger. The track also features artist Matt Vergara, from the 2020 version. Kellan’s experience as a songwriter, performer, and producer really shows in this release and his love for collaborating with artists makes his tracks hit harder!
