It took me back to my teenage years, when posters of my favourite bands covered the bedroom walls, and music blasted loud enough to make the windowpanes tremble.

The band, East Collectors, was founded by Danish bassist, songwriter, & producer Jimmy Østbygaard in 2021. He shaped the creative vision, sound, and emotional essence behind “Flashback”. Thomas Kaas brings the song to life with his guitar work. Guðrun Sólja delivers the vocals, and Chris Chordz adds his touch through co-production. The track begins with the remembrance of the past days. But then slowly shapes into an ode to the years of hard work, struggle, and standing up for one’s own dreams. “Missed a few things now & then/ Paid the price to find my place/ Every dream I fought to keep, took me through the mountains steep.” The lines carry the honesty of the time bygone that has led to the arrival of the present days of, “Looking back, it’s crystal clear/ I was always meant to be here.”

East Collectors was born from a desire to merge Nordic atmosphere with modern songwriting.
