Today we will be talking about Marc Allen’s EP “Eveningsong.” It has a total of 6 songs. The EP begins with the track “O Mistress Mine.” The melody has such a mellifluous and dreamy quality to it that it immediately soothes the heart. It’s as though you’re standing hand in hand with your beloved under a starry sky. The elegant key work stands out as a distinctive element, seamlessly integrated with the vocals to create a smooth and complete musical experience. The simple approach of the music shines through, enabling every section to breathe and shine on its own.

The second track on the EP is titled “Per de Per de Prajtina (Gypsy Love Charm).” As the title suggests, the song has a significant gypsy vibe that sweeps you off your feet. The synth work has a fascinating impact, akin to a soothing embrace for the soul. The vocals, delivered with a gentle and expressive touch, shine once more.

The glittering synth work that twinkles throughout “Song for a Deva” is brilliantly complemented by empathetic vocals. Notably, the keys serve dual purposes, acting as both bass and synth and, of course, carrying the melody throughout. The song gives off an intimate ambiance, similar to witnessing a live solo performance in which the musician passionately confesses their affection for their lover.

“Prayer for an Unborn Child” by Marc Allen is a highlight track on the EP. It presents a distinct change in pace, with moments of acceleration followed by mild drops that make it a standout among the collection. The vibraphone is an enjoyable element that completes the composition. Cherry on the cake, for sure.

“Minor Key Lullaby” stands up to its name as a very enchanting lullaby that will lull you into a restful sleep. This track is a gem that should not be overlooked with its calm tones and soulful melodies. It’s as if the song was written specifically to lull a baby to sleep, complete with a tranquil and comforting chorus. The relaxing vocal arrangement and delicate lyrics, such as “Pretty baby, close your eyes, and you’ll see surprise,” accompanied by the ambient chorus, create a cocoon of comfort that feels like being cradled in a lullaby’s embrace. It is the kind of composition that has the ability to ease stress and anxiety, making it a very priceless addition.

The final melody of the EP “Fables” flawlessly continues the serene mood set by the previous track. Its exquisite key work stimulates visions of a beautiful dancing doll inside a snow globe. The meditative soul of the song is nothing short of beautiful, and it serves as a perfect conclusion to an album that has continuously given calming experiences. “Fables” serves as a poignant reminder that beauty often resides in simplicity, culminating the musical journey on a note of tranquil beauty.
