‘Acid Scape’: Track-by-Track
‘Acid Scape’ begins with Brazillian Sin, that introduces us to the overall mood of the 3-track EP, with a funky groove and an almost flute-sounding synth. This track, like the rest of the EP is moody and vibrant, with looped melodies that capture this subtle yet dynamic tension.
The synths on the track seem to guide its mood, something that one notices two-thirds of the way in when the synths switch up their melody.
This stays consistent in the next track, ‘Don’t Lie’, a percussion & synth-heavy track that intensifies the aspects of the soundscape introduced in the last track. Here, the mood flows as the track does with intense vocalisation, keeping us anchored while rhythmic synths pull us in this perpetual nose-dive.
The track eventually cools down with a simple high-pitched melody that washes over the listener.
The last track on the album ‘Indian Scape’ vibrant yet mellow. Its percussion and vocalisation build & layer into a unique soundscape that includes Indian instruments like the Tabla. All this to produce a distinctly vibrant, yet dynamic sound that sticks, while the instrumentation builds into something clearer and clearer as we move through the track.
