Hello London creates a balance in indie rock with his exciting album, “Patterns”

You’re flowing to music on another realm with Hello London. The melodies that James Froese aka Hello London converses with are parts of many decades. Yet, he brings his own twist to it that creatively deduce an outcome that will etch itself in your psyche. His album ensures you’re daydreaming without closing your eyes. This one is called Patterns

Past Futures was the previous album by Froese. The way he constructs melodies is the resonating note that somehow incites nostalgia. Look at the opening song Garden to know how that feels, The diatonic riff rings out to create this kaleidoscope like effect, while James sings. You’ll feel like you’re listening to a more detail oriented Keane, and the song is all hearts. It also sets a great tempo for the album, while it effortlessly transitions to Breathing In.

We turn to harder rock with the second single. If you’re listening to rock radio, you’re subjected to a variety of styles. Hello London answers that question with just the power of his compositions. You’ll be swinging to this reset tempo, something that mixes energy with emotion, and the result is fantastic. The vocals mould themselves into this Three Days Grace kind of vibe, pouring in all the zeal that has been built up.

Exploring the range of music

A Wishbone Ash feel is in the DNA of Patterns. It moves through the spectrum that Hello London chooses, to make something as memorable and unique as possible. There is a flow of positivity and enthusiasm that is undeniable in his music. The fractals that predict our life are pointed out, and the purpose is laid out with a layer of symphony.

Hello London has brought the best of James Froese’s skills to a whole new facade, showing his creative outlet as well as the will to make a name in music. The choice of chords and the contrast with the feel is something he can absolutely nail. Though Part of Me has a soft wash of some sombre chords, it still exudes that bright light positivity that Hello London can harvest with his style.

A tale through acoustic too

Now comes the interesting part. The Beatles famously performed most of their songs acoustic as well, because of how sound the composition was. This case is with the songs from Froese as well, as the last 4 tracks are acoustic versions. They bring in a delicious texture to the song which would have been layered by his guitar effects or the rhythm. The result is a fresh, scintillating take on his own songs, making for an enjoyable experience that balances the fervour with some mellow.

As a listener, hearing James Froese create this back and forth with his music is truly rewarding. He is an artist that tries to view the narrative from a different perspective, leading to a whole new style. Listen to his album here:
