Highlights : Download Festival 2024 Visitors Marinated With Sludge

Last weekend rock and metal fans of UK witnessed their favorite bands at the 2024 Download Festival which took place at the renowned Donington Park. Queens of the Stone Age, Fall Out Boy and Avenged Sevenfold headlined the three nights for 14th, 15th and 16th June respectively. Fans also saw performances by Pantera, Corey Taylor, Mr. Bungle, Babymetal, Limp Bizkit, Sum 41, Kerry King and many more acts. But the event didn’t go as smooth as they had thought.

Since the area had been facing storms over the entire weekend every now and then, the festival grounds were all covered by mud. Some of the members from the audience took to social media to share updates of the same. Although this was not much of a comfortable situation, some fans still rejoiced even in that mess, such is their love for their favorite acts. Luckily the situation didn’t go out of hand and there weren’t any reported injuries as such.

Limp Bizkit call medics in the middle of their performance

The situation had become quite bad when Limp Bizkit took the stage last Sunday. At one point they had to stop their performance to help a struggling fan. Fred Durst asked the crowd present near the area to raise their hands to point out where exactly the fan was and then called for medics to be sent there. He started the performance again when fans gave an OK signal. Later in the show, the band covered snippets of Nirvana’s “Come As You Are” and Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” as per reports.

Sound cut during Avenged Sevenfold’s “Nightmare” performance

Avenged Sevenfold played the closing set for the festival. They were 11 songs down when unfortunately there was a console issue when they were playing “Nightmare”. Ardent fans in the crowd who seemed to know the song thoroughly helped the band finish it. Once they sorted the sound issue, the band played four more songs till they finally wrapped up the night.

Fan filmed footage of the “Nightmare” performance. The sound cut around 5:12.
