ALL I LIVE FOR show us that metal is a formidable force. What this band brings is unbridled energy, captured powerfully, with an intensity in their compositions that cross borders. The collective from Leeds, UK have released an album called We Are The Angels in 2021. There is no doubt what they have brought forward this time is as moving as their prior releases. With Embers of the Fallen teasing what was ready for us, here is Into the Ether.
I must admit, All Your Pain is an incredible song to start the album with. The tune fades in, the tone of the guitar dominates the space. The production makes sure that the spotlight falls on the vocals-balanced with the rhythm when it really hits. The quick paced Tethered is paired in a brilliant combo as the next number. From harmonics to a thrashy, punk like pace is what the doctor ordered. ALL I LIVE FOR fuel a passion for the kind of metal that is melodic yet diabolically lethal. This is the kind of music that shapes the scene, indie gems combined into one power packed collection.

Melodic, yet powerful
Retain You is the marching, thumping number that comes in next. Vocals are played to the strengths of the band, leading to some soaring guitar parts. You can hear this in Embers Of The Fallen, bringing an anthemic touch to the track. When the duality of clean and growling vocals come in, you instantly find yourself headbanging. The frame of mind you get into is something else, all thanks to how ALL I LIVE FOR approach the song. Make A Start has the kind of song we charge to, with an animalistic riff that has cyclic, killer execution. I loved how the band put some more of the spotlight on the percussion as well. A talented group of musicians that bring the rage fuelled premise that metal has, along with contemporary motifs all throughout.
The balance and symmetry
As creative as their song design is, I love how this has the pulse to make it a gem of a live song. The soothing, calming parts also have a great push to it, reflecting a mature songwriting stance. I like how their songs can cover the whole spectrum of emotions, give hope and still give a reflection of the world as we experience it. This is what thought-provoking music is supposed to do, cut itself out from the fat to make something that is crisp, and evocative.
Leave Behind will definitely bring you to tears, with the kind of track it is. It is symbolic of how every great metal band knows how to rally the troops to be a guiding beacon. Yet, there is a snipping contrast in Into the Ether, having a quick and explosive riff. Music here is made for the ardent metal fan, for connoisseurs who enjoy bands like early Killswitch Engage. The detail and effort put into this collection takes them to a whole other level. It is metal like this that I live for:

Self professed metalhead, moderately well read. If the music has soul, it's whole to me. The fact that my bio could have ended on a rhyme and doesn't should tell you a lot about my personality.
