Manu Chao is making a comeback. The Franco-Spanish singer has revealed his first studio album since 2007 “La Radiolina”. The next album “Viva Tu” will be released on September 20. The upcoming project is said to be “inspired by his travels and people’s daily lives” and will include songs in Spanish, French, Portuguese and English.
During the last years, Manu Chao worked with Sofia Kourtesis, Bomba Estéreo and others. His new album has guest appearances from Willie Nelson in “Heaven’s Day” and French singer Laet in “Tu Te Vas”..
The New Album Is Going To Be A Bop
Chao released the album’s second single, “São Paulo Motoboy,” just a month after debuting the title track in May. According to the press release, the song is described as “brotherly tribute to all the couriers in São Paulo who risk their lives daily while navigating the vast metropolis on their two-wheelers.”
The project, its singles and corresponding music videos also address global issues and activism. The video “São Paulo Motoboy” contains an attractive documentary that describes the daily life of a “motoboy” in São Paulo.
