Tokyo City Groove show us neon scenery through fusion jazz with their latest, “Visions”

Tokyo City Groove are master artists. It is unfair to categorize them into just music making, there is a conversation happening with their music and grooves. There is an electric buzz to the city that people fall in love with. This is the same neon buzz that has brought people to be infatuated with Tokyo. Their latest single once again, pushes the envelope to talk about the city in symphony. This is Visions

The rhythms oscillate from genre to genre. It is important to remember that these artists have been making music and touring for more than 40 years. Drummer Kenta Kitamura and bassist Kaoru Yamauchi have bent the rules for how this dynamic city behaves. The opening pocket showcases some superb drum fills that bring you to the main groove, but the appetizer is tantalizing in itself. I spent a solid 4 loops in just the opening of the song.
